Los Angeles

Los Angeles has a population of over 4 million people making it the second biggest city in the United States after New York City. It is split between over 80 different district and neighborhoods and is known for its film and television industry, with many people coming in to try and live out their dreams. The city also includes neighborhoods along the beaches, wetlands, and mountains, allowing for a diverse lifestyle suitable for different people. It is home to the cultural, financial, and commercial centers of Southern California. With the beach on one side of the city and mountains ranging up to 10,000 feet on the other, Los Angeles is a geologically diverse place. Respectfully, LA has a very diverse economy in a range of fields from professional to cultural. It has the third largest gross metropolitan product of $1.044 trillion. LA residents have an average age of 34.1 years old with a medium household income of $49,497.

Los Angeles is famous for the Hollywood Sign, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Griffith Observatory, Universal Studios, The Getty, and many other attractions. LA is home to plenty of major film studios and record labels, hosting the annual Academy Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and the Grammy Awards. Los Angeles also has nearly 850 museum and art galleries, with some of the most notable ones including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Getty Center, and the Natural History Museum. With its big-name labels and its up-and-coming stars living in the city, it’s no surprise that the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) is a notable university. It is considered one of the country’s Public Ivies, meaning its offered education is equivalent to those of the Ivy leagues. UCLA is not only known for its education, but also for its athletic programs, with over 128 national championships and 117 NCAA team championships.
